Yay for Boring Weekends

boring-weekends

Happy Friday! I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I have absolutely nothing planned except for running, eating, and catching up on chores and I couldn’t be happier. I had one of the busiest weeks I’ve had work-wise in forever and I need to just stop and catch my breath for a couple of days.

This morning Bauer and I were up bright and early for a 4 mile jog. Normally I make him wear this pleather harness that looks like it’s made for a Clydesdale…

Today I decided to let him wear his normal collar to see how it goes. The last time I took him walking with just the collar he managed to shimmy out of it and went running through the street like a banshee. Today was much more successful. There were no great escapes and I was actually able to make him run next to me using the old leash-snapping trick (which is hard to do with a harness).

Does anyone else have a dog that prefers to pull you instead of running next to you?? Any tips for turning my dog into a better running partner?

Tonight I’m heading to the gym for 800 intervals on the treadmill. My week has been so busy this will be the first run I’ve done by myself (without Bauer) since Monday. I cannot WAIT to crank up Selena Gomez and run as fast my little legs will go!

What are your plans for the weekend? Do you prefer busy weekends or lazy weekends?
